Learn how to draw from first-hand observation & be guided through each of the formal elements including line, tone, texture, shape & form, light & composition.  The course is suitable for beginners as well as the more experienced and aims to break down any preconceptions or fears around drawing. 

Participants will be working from objects in the Museum.

Learn how to interpret textures in your landscapes in the style of Anslem Kiefer using a combination of wet & needle felting methods.

The workshop will show you how to build painterly landscapes with layers of coloured Merino felting wool, as well as techniques of integrating textures & details into the foreground and midground through needle felting. Work from your own landscape photographs or respond to Anslem Kiefer’s early works - his exhibition is on show at the Ashmolean from 14 Feb.
